Labid Aziz began his career in media and business his senior year at Brandeis University. It was at this time that he convinced the President of the University and several Deans to pay him to come to school for a Post-Baccalaureate to study Film and Entrepreneurship and then to commission him to create media campaigns to promote various aspects of the University to external and internal audiences. He earned 2 years of his tuition back in one year as a Post- Bac.
Upon completion of this Post-Bac, Labid went on to start two successful companies, one a media consulting/strategy, 'Two Rams Entertainment', the other a boston-based film/tv production company, 'Life and times Productions'. In 2007, he launched a technology consulting company that designed and produced a variety of technology and social networking applications and tools, as well as providing the backbone and framework for the new social networking site for James Rey, creator of The Secret.
He has closed two of these companies and is winding down his third to focus all of his efforts and energy on his latest endeavor, Los Angeles-based A2 Media, which he also formed in 2007 with Mark Andrews.
His work as a media consultant for non-profits, socially responsible organizations, and activist groups has led to speaking engagements across the U.S. concerning media literacy and its importance for the public sector. Most recently, he has been invited by the U.S. State Department to explore the possibility of engaging in speaking tours across Asia, South Asia and the Middle East in an effort to address negative global stereotypes regarding Muslims in America.
His list of clients for media consulting have included United Way, ACLU, Council on American Islamic Relations, Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston, Massachusetts Extended Care Federation, Massachusetts General Hospital, Children's Hospital Boston, Partners Healthcare, Brandeis University, Cal State Fresno, The Commonwealth Fund, The California Endowment, The Esplanade Association, The Harvard Business School, School of Public Health and Medical School at Harvard University and The Boston History Collaborative.
Labid also produces documentaries, which address civil and human rights. In collaboration with The Civil Rights Project at Harvard University and Arnie Reisman, he produced a series of education and advocacy videos addressing The No Child Left Behind Act. This video series was used to leverage change to the Act on Capitol Hill.
He is currently wrapping up a media campaign for the Children's Hospital Boston that is focused on addressing the growing problem of increased depression and suicide amongst adolescents in America.
He has produced three feature films, eight (8) short films, eight (8) music videos, more than ten (10) commercials and PSAs and was also a segment director on the recently released PBS documentary on Helena Rubinstein and Elizabeth Arden, titled The Powder and Glory.
Labid graduated Brandeis University with a degree in Psychology.
